I can't see a unit in MyWebCT

There are several reasons why you may not see a unit in your MyWebCT.

1. Not all units you study at Curtin will have an online component.

2. Alternatively, if you have been advised by the unit coordinator/lecturer/tutor that there is an online unit website in WebCT and you still can't see it, it means that you have not yet been added into the unit. This could be because:

  • Your details have not yet been processed
It can take up to a week for your details to be processed once you have handed your forms in.
  • You are not enrolled
Check your enrolment to make sure you are enrolled in the correct units.
  • Your details are not yet on the system/synchronised between Webct and the Student database.
At the start of semester when details are being finalised in the student database system, it can take several days before you are on the student system.

In this 3 cases, you need to:
--- send an email to your unit coordinator and include your full name and student number. Without this information they cannot add you in.

Who to contact?
You should contact your unit coordinator.

I am having difficulties viewing some pages or browser problems

Some browser versions need updates to be fully compatible with WebCT. There is a browser check utility available which you should use to ensure that your browser is fully compatible and will work properly when you are using WebCT.

I am new to studying online, and don't know where to start.

Don't worry! There is plenty of help resources available to you to get you started and comfortable with using WebCT for your online courses. Firstly you should try logging into your online units and have a browse through them. You will more than likely find than it isn't quite as daunting or complex as you had first thought. Also have a read of the following help resources which will have all the information you need to get started!
